A quick blurb from Alec Rodriguez (Torch 7). Alec plans to major in International Affairs, and is already flying off to great places, literally!

From the 7th-11th of February I was in Palo Alto, California, on the campus of Stanford University for the National Conference of FACE AIDS. FACE AIDS is a nationwide group whose mission is to, “harness young people’s passion for social change and equips them with the skills, resources, and community to fight HIV/AIDS and promote global health equity now and throughout their lives” (faceaids.org). I went with four other members of the FACE AIDS chapter here at Northeastern University.

I went on the trip because I was chosen to give a speech at the conference about the perspective I have in the group as an active freshman in our very new-to-campus FACE AIDS chapter.

I had an amazing time while there and was very happy to have the opportunity to network with other FACE AIDS chapters so that in the future we can seek advice from those much older, more experienced chapters. All in all it was a very successful trip and I hope to return to the National Conference next year.
